So Im sure if you have EVER read my blog then you would say Im a pretty "crafty" person. And I am..to an extent. I really enjoy creating things..with some stipulations. First of all, I dont have much patience. So if a project looks to take longer than...a couple of hours then you can forget it! I did make all of Mason's nursery bedding, curtains, etc when I was pregnant. That was the LONGEST project Ive ever tackled and the ONLY one I every worked on for more than a day! I dont like patterns, measuring OR MATH. So if I can't "eyeball" it then thats pretty much a lost cause too. Lastly, if I start a project and dont immediately finish it that day..it NEVER gets done (with the exception of the nursery stuff). So why do I STILL enjoy making homemade items? I have no idea. But I really do! Why am I telling you this? Because maybe you have thought about making something, but think it takes too much commitment , time or PATIENCE. I have none of those things! But sometimes I just want to bust out my sewing machine and make some uneven, jumbled up mess of blanket! Mason never cares if it doesnt fold up perfectly straight or if the fabrics dont line up or the seams look ridiculous! He is ALWAYS so excited when I make him something and says "Thank you Mommy for making this for me!". So I guess thats why I make stuff..and if you ever wanted to attempt to make something..just try it! Who cares if it sucks! :)
We recently converted Mason's bed into his very own "big boy" bed! Ive had these pirate themed fat quarters of fabric since the summer (did I mention Im also a procrastinator?) so Ive been telling him Im going to make a pirate blanket for him for probably what seems like FORVER in his little 2 yr old mind. Well today I finally did it! HUGE item to check off my to do list! I always make these things out to be worse than they really are in my head. This only took me maybe 2.5 hours from start to finish. And I swear! I didnt measure a thing!
Whats the big item looming on YOUR to do list??
