Not the Greenest Thumb!

Again this year I decided to plant vegetable seeds to be later transplanted into our garden. Mason loves doing it and if it will help inspire him to eat his veggies...why not?! This year we planted lettuce, cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, carrots and eggplant. Everything sprouted and was looking unbelievably fantastic....until I tried to transition the lettuce and the cucumbers to the great outdoors. We had that one week of gorgeous weather and both the lettuce and the cucumbers were getting way too huge for the teeny tiny starter pots. So Jake and I transplanted them into larger pots until they were ready to be outside 100%. I made an genuine effort to gradually introduce them to outside. But I guess not gradually enough. The cucumbers look like something from a crime scene and the lettuce...not much better. Guess Ill be headed to the green house when this crazy weather finally makes up its mind and buying some plants that someone else has done all of the hard work to :)

But planting the seeds was fun...

What a difference a year makes! March 2011...23 months old
